FAQs

Q:

Can you tell me a little more about your Co-Op?

A:

Our Co-op is a place where Christian homeschooling families meet weekly and share the teaching portion of various subjects.  We meet for 24 Fridays, from 9:00 AM – 12:30 PM, beginning in early September and ending in mid-April.  We are blessed to use a wonderful facility in Chelmsford, Massachusetts.  This is not a drop-off activity:  Each family is required to have one adult volunteer present for the entire Co-op time each week.    Families must be willing to make a commitment for the entire school year and avoid scheduling appointments or other activities that conflict with the Co-op commitment.  Students must be assigned to a class during each period.  The Co-op is not intended to be a replacement for homeschooling; parents are still the primary teachers of their children and therefore responsible to fulfill all legal requirements on their own.  Parents are responsible for assigning grades to their students and for creating any necessary transcripts, using evaluations and course descriptions provided by the teachers.    Classes will reflect a Christian worldview and encourage Christian conduct and personal growth centered on God’s Word, the Bible.  Classes will foster a love of learning, and will strive for excellence in educating our children for their further education and for their service as adults and ambassadors for Christ in God’s world.

Q:

Who is eligible to participate in your Co-Op?

A:

Friends of Grace welcomes homeschooling families that can affirm to share the same values as those in our Unified Statement of Faith. In order to participate in the Co-op classes, each family must have one homeschooled student participating who is at least 5 years old.  Students are not eligible for our PreK group unless they are three by 12/31 of the prior year.  Children who are two and three years of age will be placed in the Toddler Room.  Babies under 2, will be placed in our Nursery.   Parents with children in the Nursery and/or Toddler Room should expect to volunteer in those rooms for at least part of the Co-op day.
